About Us

4 Kidz Club is an organization that supports, enriches, and promotes the children residing in the Griswold Community School District and their activities.

Our projects include the Griswold Playground cleanup, purchasing playground equipment for the Griswold Elementary schools, senior scholarships, planning community events for kids, and donating to various kids organizations.

We do many fundraising activities throughout the year to make it possible for us to give back to the youth of our community.

The club meets monthly during the school year. Meetings are held on the third Monday of each month.

Giving Back

Giving Back to the Kids of Our Community

Purchase Safe Playground Equipment for Griswold Elementary Schools: The club has devoted a large percentage of their fundraising efforts to helping purchase new playground equipment for both Elliott and Lewis Elementary Schools. Most recently, the club worked with the school to purchase equipment developmentally appropriate for the newly added preschools.

In 2009 the club received a grant from the Cass County Community Foundation to help purchase 2 new pieces of equipment, one for each elementary school. We hope to have the new gliders set up at the schools by the beginning of the 2009-2010 school year.

Senior Scholarships: Annually the club awards two scholarships to graduating seniors from our community who will be pursuing a career associated with children.

Kids Celebration during Griswold Reunion: During Griswold's annual celebration, the club sponsors safe, fun activities for kids. A special kiddy parade is held before the Grand Parade on Saturday evening. In addition, the club sponsors activities in the park.

Playground Clean-up: Annually the club volunteers their time to help remove graffiti, pick up trash, and weed and trim the plants at the Griswold Wooden Playground.

Middle School Dance: Every spring, the club hosts a dance for Griswold Middle School students at the Griswold Community Building.

Donations to the Community: The club supports other organizations or individuals within the community.

Fundraising

Poinsettia Sales: Annually the club partners with the school to have the elementary students sell poinsettias. 100% of the profits from this fundraiser go towards purchasing new playground equipment for both elementary schools. Currently the club is working with the school on developing a new playground improvement plan. Results of student playground surveys have been taken into consideration in developing the new purchasing plan.

Cookbook Sales: The club put together a new cookbook featuring recipes from current and former club members, elementary students and their families. This cookbook also uses student generated art work throughout it. Cookbooks can be purchased from club members, at the Griswold Holiday Expo, and at some community events. Spring and Fall Fundraisers: Each spring and fall, club members hold various fundraisers which have included food sales, candle sales, and personalized books and CDs.

Griswold Reunion Food Stand: On Friday night of reunion the club offers a food stand at the park during and after the parade.
